HEART’S MATT & CAROLINE TAKE ON PLYMOUTH’S HALF!

Both presenters have been regular fixtures on race day for a number of years, hosting the main stage, but this will be the first time either has taken on the popular South West running event!

Matt Rogers said: “I’m looking forward to my third half marathon this year and am desperate to run a personal best, so I’m currently out several times a week pounding the streets in training! Thanks to this, I have a new found love this year for bath salts and deep heat!”

Caroline Cook added: “I’m representing the beginner runner; looking forward to bringing up the rear while enjoying the excellent Plymouth scenery! Training is slightly slow progress at the moment, but it’s a great way to get out in the fresh air and raise some cash for a good cause!”

Organisers recently announced that the event had already attracted over 3,500 runners, and with nine weeks until race day, there is still plenty of time to take on the challenge of Plymouth’s Half Marathon.

Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing at GO2, said: “We are incredibly pleased to see both Matt and Caroline choosing to swap their usual stage spot in place of joining Plymouth’s runners in what promises to be a memorable event.

“As friends of the race, they have seen from all angles how much the event means to those taking part, the charities it supports and the local community. We wish them all the best, and look forward to seeing them on the start line!”

Now heading into its 23rd year, Plymouth’s Half Marathon is known for its scenic route and friendly atmosphere. The 13.1-mile journey will start and finish at The Hoe, with a varied course that boasts coastal views, the Barbican harbour and even the stunning National Trust grounds of Saltram Park.

Year after year, thousands of spectators come out to show their fantastic support for all the runners in Plymouth, so whether you’re a regular, or are taking on your first ever half marathon, you can expect to hear big cheers as you cross the finish line! Secure your spot now to avoid disappointment!
